Thanks to our volunteers during COVID-19!

The Committee would like to personally thank all of the wonderful residents who volunteered their help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the start of lockdown we offered help and support to the old, ill or vulnerable neighbours within Ellesmere Park; advertising this via posters displayed on lamp posts around Ellesmere Park.

We appealed for volunteers to help support our neighbours who may have struggled to cope with the sudden change in our community. We received over 30 responses which was amazing!

As a result new friendships have been made (see our story about June Smith! https://www.ellesmerepark.org.uk/junes-saturday-walk-with-pam-and-summer/) and some of the help has and will be continued.

Local resident Ashley commented, “I really appreciated you coming round and helping me”.

Another resident commented, “I do not know what I would have done without EPRA’s help. I ran out of my pills early on a Saturday morning and had no one to get them and then I remembered taking down the number on the lamp posts for your offer of help. Within half an hour someone had collected my prescription and delivered it to me. If I had not had your number I don’t know what I would have done. You came to my rescue!”

Clare Ward, chair of EPRA, commented, “It is heartening to hear how much we have come together and helped one another through this difficult period. It gives me faith in human nature. Long may it last and a BIG thank you everyone!”
